The first Tide vases were white. Then Ingeborg saw the colour of old bottle glass washed up on the beach below the workshop, and spent a winter chasing it.
Forty test tiles later, the right green came from the kiln by accident: a little too much iron, a little too long at the top temperature.
The best glazes are the ones you almost threw away.
